That's me in the middle. :) Pretty great, I know. |
How are you today?
Yeah? Well that's cool.
Oh, who am I, you ask?
Just Rachel.
I'm the lead children's bookseller at my local Barnes & Noble--in charge of both kid's and teen. (The power! Muahahahaha!)
I'm a graduate of the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) with a degree in English.
I'm an alumna of the Disney College Program, where I worked at Disney World, in Animal Kingdom at Restaurantosaurus (only the single coolest quick service restaurant EVER, with the most fantastic costumes you've ever seen. SERIOUSLY, go visit. You won't be disappointed.)
I have a deeply rooted, and slightly destructive, book buying habit.
I will cry at anything that strikes me as being remotely sad. Or not even sad. Just anything, really.
I like to dance. I will tell you I'm a fantastic dancer. But I'm lying. I'm terrible. (But really I'm fantastic.)
I watch a lot of movies. Especially ones that make me cry. Plus I can probably tell you the name of every actor in the movie, along with the last three movies they were in.
I've been known to pet books. (You know what books I'm talking about.)
I'm always up for a good, dirty dish on my newest hunky fictional soulmate. (Oh, Mr. Rochester. You will always be superior to Mr. Darcy. Never fear.)
I pride myself on being a bit of a music snob, yet can't help but dance my face off when a particularly catchy Britney Spears song comes on.
My birthday, April 20th, is also Adolf Hitler's birthday.
And National Weed Day (in America.)
And the anniversary of the Columbine school shootings.
And the anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
I'm a bit of a rambler.
Hedgehogs. They're adorable.
